Thikse Monastery应该是最大的寺庙吧。这里离Leh不远。不过我们很早就起身，前往这座庙宇。就是·为了看早晨喇嘛吹喇叭。喇嘛吹喇叭。喇嘛吹喇叭。喇嘛吹喇叭。讲到顺口的时候。喇叭声响起。飞奔上到阳台。已经要很多老外在围观了。吹多两吹。拍多两拍。就完了。不知道是什么含义。后来到喇嘛的念经的庭院。发觉有很多喇嘛迟到，好像睡迟了。我想吹喇叭应该是叫醒他们的吧。

Hemis Festival, Ladakh

来到Ladakh,刚好碰到一年一度的Hemis Festival. 在Ladakh的第3天，我们驱车到Hemis Monastery, 离开Leh有两小时车程。Monastery 门口就有喇嘛叫游客捐款，当时真的很多人。要坐在地上都会被赶走，喇嘛说坐屋顶还得付费呢。好商业的寺庙。没有拍到很多的照片。因为真的剂不到前面去拍照。反倒我觉的拍观众是最美的，之后我头痛，就躲到后面休息。晚上，想起隔天要去Panggong Tso。。就拖着自己到外面去买氧气，买了10分钟的氧气，测一测，氧气店老板说我只有50%氧气在体内。善良的他还送我到医院，很感谢他。。这里的人都很好。。。

Disket Gompa

沙丘的骆驼。是以前丝绸之路路过的商人留下的。

在途中拍的湖。和山的倒影。

这里没有卖bra的。这是印度最北部的地方。就在Pakistan边界。有三千多尺高。盆地。有沙丘。也有骆驼。有花。没人。

从Leh来这里，要攀越5600m高的Khardung La。他们说是世界上最高可通车的路。当然我是坐车上去的啦。然后就一直下山，再上一个山，在下来，再吃一碗Maggi，再滚2个小时就到了雪豹宿舍。很慌凉，狗都不拉屎的小镇。但在第二天，我开始发现它的美。：）

出发到Panggong Tso去，车子一直往上爬，要攀越5000米高峰，在下去4000米高的湖。对！ Panggong Tso 是最高的咸水湖。是亚洲最高吗？好象是。。嘻嘻。这张照片是在途中拍的。好高噢。。好美噢。。好想念这里。。

2011年八月，这是第4次到停泊岛。我依然很喜欢这个岛屿。这一次我到Teluk Dalam. 这个沙滩比较长，食物选择也比较多。潜水方面，我没有去到我喜欢的Tokong Laut 和 Sugar Wreck. 我看下次还是去另外一边。哈哈！

人生如果可以回头，那该多好。。

Mount Bromo located at East Java. I had fun joining my friend on a trip to this part of the world. Mount Bromo is a volcanic mountain. It is still live volcano, last eruption happended in year 2004. Smoke still steaming up from the volcano crater. On the foot hill of mount bromo, there is an Hindu Temple, where they give offering to the god every year.

We took jeep from Bromo Permai resort passing the foot hill of mount Bromo and got to Penanjakan mountain to see the sunrise at 4am in the morning. The picture was taken from Mount Penanjakan. There is a viewing platform at the mountain.

After viewing the sunrise and mount bromo from a distance, we took the jeep again to the foot hill of mount Bromo and start walking pass the sea of sand and the Hindu temple to get to the volcano crater. I think those are actually volcanic sand, as it is black in color. There is staircase leading to the volcano crater.

21-12 离开清境农场，我们找到的士到日月潭，好幸运。我不要坐巴士了，好久，好辛苦，又要转车。

日月潭，台湾最最大的湖。对！是湖来的，不是海。这里有很多游艇载旅客游湖。还有山猪香肠。。不过我没吃。找了酒店后，我们就坐船游湖。据说这里有一个啊婆从日本时代卖咸鸭蛋，卖到现在。。。不不！是茶叶蛋才对。我有买来吃，还不错。哈哈。来观图吧。

那小岛是原住民的圣地，普通人是不能进入的。

These yellow flower tend to flourish towards the end of the year. It's time for the bee to return for honey! So far I found only one bee collecting honey from these flowers. There were a bunch of them last year. I hope I will see more of them soon.

Perhentian Island

Perhentian island is closing soon for monsoon season. I had been to this island 3 times, stayed at Turtle Creek Beach twice and main beach Perhentian besar once. I like this island very much compare to other island, maybe it's more convenient for lone traveller like me. I like the diving very much, so far I haven't dive much in peninsular malaysia, and 20 out of my 60 dives are done around Perhentian islands. Whale sharks have been visiting this island a few times this season. Hope will get lucky to see one for myself next year.

Sukau Rainforest at Kinabatagan River

Sukau is a rainforest reserve located at Kinabatagan River in Sabah, Malaysia. It's about 2 hour drive from the town of Sandakan. I went with a group of schoolmates, and we were staying at Myne Resort. We didn't manage to see pygmy elephant. Prosbicus monkey, Crocodile, Hornbill are common in the area.

I went to Butterfly park on Saturday Noon. There were lots of butterflies there. Some of them couldn't stop flying, which make it hard to capture them. Most shot captured using 300mm telephoto lens. I think I may need to get a monopod to counter my handshake problem. Most of the picture are not sharp. A LED torch light would be nice to light up the subject. That may make the subject sharper, and I notice that a dark color butterfly does have bright blue color if it is lighten up using flash or LED lights. I think I am gonna get one at pasar malam, just for macro. :D

This is the four season house of Bukit Cahaya located in Shah Alam. I came here to take tulips picture, but couldn't find any. It's spring time right now, as they change the season from time to time. There's still a lot of other flowers to take. I mean taking picture. :p Here's just a few shots that I felt ok with. White balance inside the house could be tricky. Better to shot in raw or use custom white balance between 2500k to 3000k.

Diving at Perhentian Island

Arrived to Bubbles Dive Resort. It's their first day for business for the season.

1st Dive. Teluk Godam.

First time to this site. It's located on the eastern side of Perhentian Besar. Sarah said she wanted to see Humbhead Parrotfish. I managed to spot one and pull her fin to notify her.

2nd Dive. Shark Point, Teluk Dalam.

Visibility was not good. The site consists mainly hard coral. Didn't see a shark either. I used to see Indian Walkman, pipefish here. I looked at those old places, but it seems they are not there anymore.

1st March 2009

3rd Dive. Tiger Rock aka. T3
I like this dive site. It's a submerged pinnacle, with lots of

swimthrough to explore. The sea surface was rough. We counted to 3 and backrolled together into water, then descent to 20m+. Visibility is good with lots of fish life.

4th Dive. D. Lagoon. The sea surface is rough. We had a tough boat ride to this side. This site is located at Perhentian kecil. I backroll first into the water and wait for others. I corrected my weight to 2.5kg on this dive. I dived this site before. I didn't like this site particularly. But I heard that this site has a resident Napoleon Wrasse. I never see this fish before and it is a highly endangered species. A species which has been overfished and ended up on dinner plate of expensive restaurant. Please don't eat this fish anymore. And I managed to see it while diving this site. I tried to chase, but it swam away from me.

5th Dive. Bubbles house reef. Some of the divers need to take flight tomorrow. So we decided to dive house reef at 12m. We saw a mating nudibranch and procupine fish. I didn't dive with wetsuit on this dive, and corrected my weight to 2kg.

2nd March 2009

Todays weather has been very bad. Rough sea and raining all day. I have been waited whole day on the beach for the weather to clear out. The weather started clearing in late afternoon. And we got

a chance to go dive at turf club at 5pm. Turf club is a muck diving site. We did a free descent to 24m. Dive time on this site is 30 minutes, as this is not a multilevel dive. We

stay 30minutes at that depth and ascent for satefy stop. We spotted 2 seahorses,

2 pipefishes, and a sea snake. Visibility is about 2m at first. But we met a few trevally feeding on the sand, stirring up sands and mess up visiblity. Visibility dropped to like 0.5m. It was a short dive, as I can't break the decompression limit, because I would need to catch a flight the next day back to KL. I had almost 24 hours Surface interval before my flight. It should be safe.

I might go back to Bubbles for my Nitrox or Rescue diver course.

She came all the way from Kota Kinabalu to work on this island. Just for a simple reason that she loves the sea. Isn't that was my dream long time back? But reality has taken over ......

Rainforest discovery center located at mile 14, Sepilok area. It has a canopy walk for observing hornbill and kingfisher. I went there twice. and didn't get any photos on kingfisher. :( Need better luck next time.

I bought a used lens Minolta 50mm F1.7. I think this lens is more than 20 years old. Attached one sample pic. Nice bokeh?

It's hard to find bees nowadays. They dont come anymore for these yellow flowers. I was kind of lucky to see this grasshopper the other day. Sigh. At least I got a subject to shoot at.

Happy New Year.. White butterfly taken on the first day of 2009. I waited quite long for the butterfly to stop flying and get used to my presence, coz I had to stick my camera very close to subject to take the shot. This time I used flash with tissue wrapped around the flash to avoid overexpose the photo. The result turn out quite good. :)

Taken using Hoya Close up filter. The filter cost only RM56, I guess it's the cheapest solution to do macro photography. Kit lens zoom to 70mm focal length, and focus on subject in about 10cm distance. It was very near. Taking the butterfly shot was difficult as it always fly away when I approach it. So I waited in front of the flower and stay still for a while, and it actually come forward to me. I am very satisfied with this filter.

First thing that come to my mind when I open my eye this morning is to go somewhere to take photograph. I wanted to take some flowers. So, I got on the net and find info on gardens around KL. Taman Tasik Perdana seems like a good choice, but it is mostly orchid. I wanted a colorful background for flower shot. The best would be a garden full of flowers and flowers are closed to each other.

There's a pool in KLCC Park. A lot of kids were playing there. I found this little girls, and immediately change to telephoto lens to take these candid shots. Her expression is so natural.

I decided to go to KL bird park after my church session. My GPS didn't work very well, it always take me a longer way to my destination. But I still reach KL bird park, as I know my way there. I just wanted to test out the GPS.

KL Bird park. The largest covered bird park in the world, as they say they are. Quite many species of bird there. But I didn't see kingfisher there. :D

I love parrots, especially small parrots. They are cute and beautiful in bright colors. I did have green parrots at home when I was young. My grandpa used to catch them by applying glue on sticks as trap.

I have been thinking about diving since the day I got back from Perhentian Island. I met few staff in Perhentian island. They could work in an island for so long, away from city life, being in a place that is so isolated, that they don't even get to read the latest newspaper. I always wonder if I can do the same...

While I was on the island, I didn't wear any shoe for few days.. of coz except my dive booties. I kind of like that feelings, walking bare foot on the sandy beaches, soak in the sea, dive in the ocean. I felt never been so close to nature.

I remember my first dive on this trip, the shore dives. There was a shark sucker keep following me and hide under my fin. This is the second time i met such an incident. The first was in Boon song wreck, Khao Lak. I wonder if they like purple fin? or my fin is too dirty and need some cleanup? or Do I look like a shark? This shark sucker are really good. They can keep up with my frog kick and still be able to take shelter under my fin. It followed me for maybe half an hour. When I finished the dive, I fin it off.

My Perhentian Island Trip

Day 1.

Arrive to Kota bharu airport. Baha was waiting for me at the airport. Then transit to Kuala Besut. It costs only RM30 for sharing the van with other travelers. Once arrived in Kuala Besut, Bought a round trip boat ticket to Perhentian Island for RM75. The boat will only go to Teluk Dalam. Once arrived at Teluk Dalam, I made a call to bubbles. They sent a small boat to fetch me to the next beach. The beach looks deserted from far, as buildings are perfectly hidden behind those trees. I guess that’s why turtle still come here and lay eggs almost every night in the month of July. I like this resort, no noisy pub, less crowded, not much lights at night, good food, great dive guides, great staff, close to nature.

After I arrived at the resort, Harick greeted me and Hollies gave me an orientation about the resort. No lights at the balcony or walking on beach after midnight. That is good for not disturbing turtles coming on shore.

I checked into my room and went to dive shop. I will do my refresher course for the next morning. Great! Then I went snorkeling off the beach. And I saw 3 black tip sharks swimming in shallow water!

During dinner time, I met Wong, the chef of bubbles dive resort. Great food he cooked.

Day 2.

First dive of the day. It was my refresher course. Martin gave a briefing. Somebody saw leopard shark in bubble’s house reef. Wow! I hope I can see one. We I did mask clearing in shallow water. Then we head to bubble’s house reef. It was a shore dive. I skip the fin pivot, because my buoyancy was ok. I swam around house reef. Didn’t see a shark.

2^nd dive of the day. Segi Bay. Craig came with us. Nice dive. Good visibility. Rocky bottom.

3^rd dive of the day. Teluk Dalam. Saw scorpion fish, pipe fish, box fish and shark. Buddy up with Christine. She was doing Dive master training in the dive center. And, I saw a turtle resting on sand bottom.

Day 3.

There was a family from Hong Kong doing open water course in bubbles. We dove with them on the 3^rd dive of the day at D Lagoon. It’s lovely to see parents dive with their children.

Sail Rock. Current! We did free descent and swam around the reef top. A bit of drifting here and there, and quite a lot of swimming to slow down the drift. I used the most air in this dive. 40 Bar left for 55 minutes dive.

Tg Basi. I like this dive site, mild current, with lots of soft coral, Anemone fish, and lots of Titan Trigger Fish. At least 5 of them appear at the same time and we were surrounded by them. We swam around them to avoid close contact, as they are aggressive when protecting their nest. I like the rock formation of this dive sites. There is a lot of crevices for exploration.

D lagoon. We went with open water students. They were diving with their instructor, while I went with Martin. We got into water first and descent. It’s an easy dive site. We met them underwater. It reminds me of my open water days.

Day 4.

I woke up early to take a picture of the sunrise. Then I saw 2 turtle tracks, these 2 turtles has left. On the other end of the beach, a turtle still laying eggs on the beach at 7am. The turtle is big. I like turtle so much, it’s the most adorable sea creature I have ever seen.

Early dive today.

Sugar Wreck. This wreck was sunk in year 2000. It was being tolled from north towards Singapore for repair. But it sunk unfortunately. Initially it was in a vertical position. After a few months, it laid horizontal on the sea bed. This wreck was carrying sugar, that’s why it is called sugar wreck. Sugar wreck has 2 cargo holes. We will penetrate the hole. Visibility could be bad as it is closed to the mainland. After we got the dive site, I got down first, there was no current and visibility is good. We saw a lot of porcupine, bat fish, snapper etc. We penetrate the cargo hole and came out from another cargo hole. It was my first time penetrating ship wreck. Good dive!

Tokong Laut

Tokong laut is a pinnacle nearby Perhentian Kecil. It’s maximum depth is 25m Current could be strong here. We stay on the shelter side of the pinnacle, as it was difficult to swim to the other side. We saw a giant moray eel, a disabled 3 leg hawksbill turtle, shark, nudibranches etc. I will dive more of this dive site in the future. There is more for exploration.

Teluk Dalam

Saw big turtles. Could be the one nesting earlier this morning. First time I saw Indian walkman as well, it’s a weird name for a fish. Other fish I saw are hump head parrotfish, trumpet fish, pipe fish. 2 sea horse species which has a long body, one yellow and one black. I don’t know their name. Great dives.

Day 5

Last dive of my trip. We went muck diving at Turf club, An uncharted dive site. It is found by bubbles. We saw sea horses, baby cuttlefish, nudibranches etc. I don’t have keen eyes to spot small marine lives.

I did one dive only as I would need 24 hours surface time for my flight at 3 the next day. I wondered around the beach in the afternoon, Took a lot of photographs for memories.

Day 6

Packed my stuff. Ready to leave for KL at 12. Total 10 dives. It’s overall a good trip. Good dive guides they have. Good bye Bubbles. I will come back again!

Bubbles Dive Resort, Perhentian Island

I just got back from my dive trip in Bubbles Dive Resort, Perhentian Island. This place is great, great dive guide, good services, good food. I will definite go back again.

Bubbles dive resort is hidden perfectly behind those trees. From far, it looks like a deserted beach. This is good as turtles still come here frequent to lay eggs. During my 5 night stays, I have seen 3 turtle tracks in the morning. And, I actually saw one turtle still laying eggs at 7am. It was just about to start digging hole. I took a few pictures and left it alone, as I was not patient to wait till it finish laying eggs and crawl back to the sea.

I did a refresher course and 9 boat dives. I love the dive site Tanjung Basi, Teluk Dalam, Tokong Laut. At Tanjung Basi, there were many Titan triggerfish surround us. This fish is aggresive when protecting their nest, and they will attack when they think I am a invading their nesting area. We swim around them to avoid close contact with them. We found turtle in Teluk Dalam, and also sharks, Humphead Parrotfish, Indian Walkman, Trumpet fish, sea horse. Tokong Laut is a pinnacle rising from 22m. Current could be strong here. We manage to swim on one side of the pinacle, because current was strong, and we stay on the shelter side of the pinnacle. I saw giant moray, nudi here. I like its rock formation, soft corals, lots of fish life. I will definitely go back to this site.

It was a very enjoying dive trip. Hope to go back there in September 2008.

I just bought myself a new diving mask, a full black cool Tusa mask with -4.0 corrective lens. This is to replace my old -3.0 mask. Hope I will be able to see better underwater and spot some Nudi. Anybody want to buy my old mask?

Old Mask
30+ dives. Remember once I accidentally drop it into the sea when climbing back onto dive boat. Luckily, the divemaster went down again and found it for me. :( I feel sorry for him.

New Mask
0 dives. Looks better underwater. Hope to get an underwater pic of myself. hehe.

New Mask with old mask strap and snorkler. Snorkler? I seldom use snorkler when diving. Anyway, it's good to have it on rough sea surface, and best when the boat is missing and have to wait for half an hour floating on surface.

Found this software not long ago. It allows to run multiple operating system virtually inside another operating system. I tried with OpenSUSE and Kubuntu, it works perfectly well. Not bad as a free software.

We spent a night on Nan Shan Temple area. The area is huge park, containing a few temples and hotels. The most famous temple are Nan Shan Shi, the main temple, the Jin Yu Guan Yin Temple, the Nan Hai Guan Yin Temple etc. Nan Hai Guan Yin is a huge Guan Yin built extended out to the sea. She has 3 faces facing different directions. The Jin Yu Guan Yin is built using gold, diamonds and lots of other gemstone, costing more than 1 billion yuan.

I joined my customer's company trip to Ya Long Wan in Sanya, southern Hainan. White sandy beaches, not much commercial stores, in fact, it looks quite abandoned. Actually there are few big hotels build behind those green bushes. At least the building is not so close to the beach.

About diving, their dive operation caters mostly for Discovery scuba. A shallow dive would cost RMB200+, Boat dives costs more than RMB500. All visitors can go diving, no license required.

I wonder anyone out there actually knows that Sabah was a lease to British North Borneo Company in 1878? Later the company gives Sabah to Malaysia in 1963. The company was paying 5000 Malaysia ringgit to the Sultan annually as rental. Can you believe that Malaysia is still paying the rent of RM5000 annually to the Sultan till now? If Phillipines took back Sabah, I think I'm gonna go back there. and sail to southern Phillipines. Find an island, and open my dive shop there. :D

话说海南有个海口，海口有个村，村里堆满火山石，石也用来造宫殿, 羊咪住在宫殿里。宫殿满地都是屎。有问屎是谁拉的，羊咪立刻咪咪叫，咪咪似乎是咪认。我脚踩在咪屎上，别是一番咪搔味。离去到一吗祖庙，庙前有一口井，听说村里郎娶娘，是送脸盆的，想来想去为什么，原因这里很缺水，越多脸盆越富有！:)

Mac's safari browser on my windows xp! And the best of it, it is free. I love its fonts, text box highlighting, animation... I'm thinking to switch over from firefox. Because this browser sometimes went crazy and consumes 100% CPU usage. I hope that Safari wouldn't.

I have seen the OS X days earlier. Feel in love with it. I am gonna look for an x86 version of OS X. Tell you when I got it.
